Abide

I feel it is important to remind oneself of where they came from before becoming a believer in Jesus Christ and how easy it is to get discouraged when we look at others and our specific situations. One way to combat discouragement is to focus on God and not oneself. I appreciate the lyrics of the song, Abide, from Paul Clark. The message to me is simple...stay close to God.

Video:

Abide (Paul Clark)
The more I go on with you Lord
I find that I can not afford
To stay away from your side
It's in the vine...Abide

Your words are truth and Life to me
They Cleanse and Sanctify me
I know it's power can't be denied
It's in the vine...Abide

A child of God I know I am
I've been washed in the precious blood of the Lamb
But I, haven't touched the hole in his side
But in the vine I'll Abide

To bring forth fruit this is my aim
And give the Glory to your name
To do the same you must decide
If in the vine you'll Abide

To do the same you must decide
If in the vine you'll Abide

A truly touching song. Have you also heard Paul Clark's duet featuring Kelly Willard (of the Maranatha Singers) "Woman" inspired by Proverbs-31:

(Man sings:)
'Woman, your worth is far above all precious jewels
My heart trusts in you
I know you'll do me good all the days of my life
Woman, your hands they seem to work with delight
They're like Merchant Ships
gathering goods from afar for your home
You rise before the Sun
To serve everyone
Day after day
Your hands seldom rest
They never eat the bread of idleness

Woman, you are a gift to me
grace and dignity are yours
Woman, you're like a Silent Night
gentle and quiet of heart, and I love you
Please love me
Let us live together
in Him'

(Woman sings:)
'In my heart there's a feeling
and I know it comes from above
He gave me you for my covering
It's true that you are the man that I love

Since the day that He spoke to me
and showed me you were the one
We've been through so many changes, but still
You are the man that I love.

(Together)
'What a joy to be living
sharing our lives together
If we continue in giving we'll share a little of Heaven
right here on the Earth'

(antiphonally)
'Woman, I love you'

'You're the man that I love'

(together)
'Let us live together in Him

[Bles]
